Were almost walking. Look at him balancing here. He's a riot, and can totally walk but doesn't want to. He'll walk occasionally when he wants to, but he's still thinking that crawling is the fastest way of transportation. He still stands in the middle of the room claps, dances and sits. Sometimes he will walk, but most of the time he just cracks up and sits back down.
We went sledding New Years Day. Perhaps we should have gone on a day it wasn't -439 degrees outside but we had fun for the little bit we went. ![]()
Shell and Ann, getting a ride back up the hill from Bud. ![]()
Bud plows snow for people in the winter, a couple weeks ago a family who he plows for gave him this snowmobile for free. She's a beast, I even cruised around on her for a bit.
It was really. Really. Really cold out.
Ann and her boo.
Zabe had the pleasure of warming up in grandma's bath tub, although he was not out sledding and was in the warm comfort of grandma house.
He loves baths. His little black eye is from standing by grandpa's chair and falling, Grandpa said to bad he doesn't still have the Mohawk, it would have went perfect with the black eye. lol.
Grandma has some rubber ducky's that light up in water. He was lovin' them. I still don't get how electricity and water mixes?!
Our little musician.
Grandma sits down and plays with him also, they like to do duets. She didn't want her hair to be seen on camera so she puts her hood up. Here they are playing The Rose, by Bette Midler.
He was like, "Grandma, what are you doing?"
He thought it was just hilarious. He would look at her, then look at us and crack up.
I got him this adorable little hat and gloves at Gymboree, after X-Mas we found the matching sweater, I thought it would be cute to have some picts of him standing in the snow, however he wanted no part in it.
Punk.
Shelly commented in the last post where this picture of Bud and I was so here you go Shell. Not my best picture after all, but when your layered up is any picture a good picture. I also feel like this picture looks like we are vacationing in the North Pole. Brrrr. The sun was so deceiving that day.
Reason #438 I hate winter sports.....it does nothing for my figure!
P.S. I cut my hair. Finally! I was kind of nervous. It's been quite some time since I've had it "short". Feels so good, and so quick and easy to do! Amen. I will maybe have Shell take some picts today to show off my new do.
How exciting...Trev and Char have a blog. If you want to check it out for yourselves here is the link.
As you know I heart blogs so if you have one and I don't know about it, please let a girl know in the comment section of this post.
Hope you all have a good week as it is the first full working week for a lot of people. I may have to ask my boss if I can maybe have a day off this week or very soon. Haha.
Find the wonderful in today.....And if you can't find it I will email it to you. :)
(That's an inside joke with this girl's husband.)
Seriously it's like his 3 favorite things. Bud was so excited to send this picture into the Outdoor News, it had his big buck, his son and his gun all in one photo, I mean really does it get any better? Since sending in the picture he would run into the house Thursdays when he got off work and check the outdoor news to see if it was in there.
About a week ago I saw something from Outdoor New that I had to open....for some reason, I was like, "What is this?" So I opened it and to my surprise it was the picture Bud had sent and a note that said why it wasn't going to be published. The note said, "Gun is pointing at someone."
Although the non loaded gun in the picture looks as if it is pointing at Z it was not. Errrrrr.
Reason # 968 why I don't hunt ---pictures may appear gun is pointing at first born.
Kissing the deer and daddy.
Man he's cute!
We, I mean Z and I went along to wrestling last night in Pine Island with my parents. What.An.Experience. With an over-tired child, who wanted to get down and be by himself and crawl all over it was not the most relaxing, or fun time. Ahhh. Since Sonny wrestles 215 and there is only one wrestler after him, I decided I was going to take Z out to the car, I picked up my jacket and everything in the pockets went all over down in the seats in the row ahead of us. Mind you Zabe is whining and ready to go. Of course the keys went with the spare change, lip gloss, and 2 lighters. Why I have 2 lighters??????
Anyway, we went out to the lobby where he proceeded to crawl around on the floor and wanted to go into another gym where there was a BB game going on. So I picked him up and we went and sat at the entrance and waited for mom and dad. He of course was flirting with everyone out there saying hi, as they left, happy as can be. His cheeks were red, and he was warm from fighting the world, but mainly his mother.
As Luke was wrestling I managed to get some pretty decent pictures, considering I had Zabe on one hip and my camera in the other hand, not the easiest thing to do holding a 40+ child.
Have I mentioned it's hard to be a mom.
I'll say it again, I really wish he were walking.
P.S. Em, you'd be so proud. I shot in RAW. hehe.
Wrestle.
He was trying his head lock.
Come on Sonny, get up.
An old cheerleading cheer. (In your best cheerleading voice) Up, Up, Up on the whistle! Up, Up, Up on the whistle.
Go hard Luke.
Still cheering, 2 for a takedown, 3 for a nearfall, 6....for a pin.
Woooooooaaaaahhhhhhhh. Careful.
WATCH YOUR WEIGHT.
Ah, much better.
What's that smell?
Yeah, he won. So did Goodhue.
Perfectly said, and so very true. I almost got a little choked up reading it. Go here.
one of the cutest bonding moments I have seen. Zabe with his cousin Harrison. He's in love with babies and kids around the age of 3-4. I love it. Harrison didn't really know what to think right away, but once his mother and auntie told him it was ok, he was fine with it. He's not used to "baby" brothers as he's the youngest in his family. This moment was so sweet.
HAHAHAHA. (O'Reilly family inside joke)
We dropped Z off at Bud's Aunt and Uncle Joe Joel and Nicolette's and we were off to get our wax worms?!?!?! (Is that what there called?) for our fun ice fishing extravaganza. Anyway, after getting everything ready in the portable ice fishing house we hopped on the snowmobile, and headed back to Willard, which is about a mile away. I am riding behind Bud so I can't see much, camera case around my neck when all of a sudden I am laying on the ground, my husband laughing uncontrollably and me trying to figure out what had just happened. We hadn't even been on the snowmobile 30 seconds before that happened. So I hop back on hesitantly and off we go. Cruising along, cruising along and Bud says to me, "Don't talk to loud now people can here everything you say." So we are rounding a bend I am hanging on with all I've got to whatever I can hold onto because I see a big corner and HUGE hill coming ahead. Sure enough I was on the ground again for the second time. I insisted that I walk the remainder of the way but Bud was yelling (in a very soft voice) (remember people can here us) to get back on the snowmobile. Because the snowmobile is old it's not built like the newer ones so it's OBVIOUSLY easy to tip, and because other people smart people drive 4-wheelers back there, there are large paths from their tires that we kept getting into, hence the tipping over. So I jump back on, super nervous, scared and embarrassed that if I fall off again and people see me I will crawl in the fishing hole. Were climbing the hill just about to round the last curve before everyone on the lake/pond can see us and Bud dumps me AGAIN. Seriously. I wanted to walk. Thank God, no one could see us, but when I stood up, brushed myself off, I saw the lake. Amen. We were almost there, we made it without me falling off anymore. I'm sure if people could have seen us they would have been hysterical, because really it was funny.
I'm fine.
I was excited once we got down there and set up, there were probably about 12 other people fishing, I thought to myself, if the fish aren't biting at least I will be able to people watch......until Bud pulled this over us and I couldn't see a thing. Nothing.
This is what I saw, my legs and the hole. I started getting a little chilly so Bud turned the heater on. My first reaction, "Oh great, now I am going to get sick from this mini Nipco and I am going to get sick!" My girlfriends know that from HS, I used to vomit when we were at a party and these were going. Luckily, I didn't get sick, felt nauseous once or twice but it passed quickly.
My pole, hole and bobber.
I had to get out and stretch....and get some fresh air, and a better view.
Because this was mine for 2 hours.
This is accident number 2 site. On our way back to the truck. Fishing went well, I caught 1, and I tell ya, I'ts nothing like fishing for Walleye's. I think I may get spoiled with the fishing in Canada. I had 3 bites in 2 hours...I think. I was going cross eyed watching the bobber for so long. Ouch.
My favorite part of the fishing experience was getting back to safe land and taking some picts at Gooz's rents farm. SOOO many photo opps. I'll share a few with you.
Rims.
Rim.
Old door.
Sweet old car grill. Don't you love that color?
The fish we caught. 3 sunnys. I caught the biggest. hahahahahaha
hahahahahahaha, I handed Bud this tiny bowl thinking I would be smart and that he would need a bigger one and he said, "That'ell do!" Man it was funny.
Happy Birthday Ann, We hope you have a wonderful day today. You so deserve it. We are so proud and happy of the girl you have become over the past 20 years. We couldn't ask for a better sissy, or auntie.
Love, your family!
We love you!
Love, Ab, Bud, Zabe, Mom, Dad, Chris, Abbey, J.J., Jenna, Shelly, Casey, Kim, Carsyn, Cayden, Tony, Carrie, Luke, and of course your boo Cole.
He is such a little man!! Like an old man who has trouble walking. Yep, that's him. Still not walking. He will be 15 months on Friday...already. Seriously where does the time go. I got to thinking today, I always said I couldn't stand it when you would ask someone the age of their child and they would respond 17 months or 14 months or 38 months whatever, but I finally understood why. For so long you say, 6 months, 9 months, 11 months and then all of a sudden to stop that it's hard.
I don't know what a mother is to do. Suggestions. Or do I keep saying this month thing for a bit longer?? Until like he's a year and a half which adds up to 18 months. And then I would happily says he's 1 1/2. And then a little bit later he's almost 2. Seriously. Do any other mothers think about this stuff?
Z loves his piano still. I will say I'm gonna get you and he crawls so fast over to the piano to get away. He laughs sooo hard when we do this and then I am laughing listening to him laugh and then he laughs harder because I'm laughing so hard. Oh, if we had a video camera on record all day!!!
Fun. Fun.
Does anyone know how long a trial pack of contacts last?
"How long have you had them in?" "Last February!"
And you thought yogurt was funny.
I love you sis. :) Seriously I keep thinking about it and I laugh out loud.
I have a love hate relationship with the common cold/flu. Zabe has something and is not feeling well at all. Wednesday I thought he was maybe coming down with something, and then last night I figured that it must be teeth, he has 3 molars coming in all at the same time and another one is completely through. This a.m. he slept until 10:30 and was pretty clingy all day to auntie Annie. I was doing hair from 1-6, so I didn't get much cuddle/bonding time. Tonight when Ann and I were putting him to bed he threw up, he was crying and then of course I was crying. You feel so terrible that he feels so terrible. Where the love hate relationship comes in is that he is sooooo cuddly when he is not feeling well. And I love to hold and cuddle him. We cuddled on the couch and I took him up to bed at 9:00. Hopefully we have a good night and whatever he has clears up realllllllllly soon.
Happy 15 month birthday Z! To bad you have to feel like total crap.
We had a good night. Z slept from 9-9, last night and is has been napping for the last 2.5 hours. He was not as clingy this a.m. during his short period awake. He read books and sat in the chair for while watching Bud work outside on the new door. Picts to follow soon.
Hope you having a great Saturday; were sad to be missing out on Leslie's birthday party at the MOA. Tear.
Bud had had enough with the "original" door on the house, and decided to purchase a new one. He put it in on the coldest day of the year so far with a high temperature Saturday being around -4. We had originally planned on painting the outside of the door to match the color of the fascia, but I think we are going to leave it. I like the white. Sad to have the original door leave because I loved the oval glass in it. It's amazing to me how expensive a door is, but we were wasting soooo much heat from the old door.
Next project up this summer by Bud is redoing the porch!!! Can hardly wait for that. Crazy how far this old house has come! I should post a picture of when we moved in to now, 3 years later.
IT'S.HARD.TO.BE.A.MOM.
Pretty much from the time Z woke up this morning, 10:15 until just now 6:50 p.m. he has been a bear!!! He doesn't know what he wants, he wants me and only me but then when he has me he still doesn't know what he wants. He's not cuddly anymore which makes it hard because I have no clue on what to do to make him happy. I think this was our FUSSIEST day we have ever had in the last 15 months. I was very ready to pass him off on his father tonight when he came home but he didn't want a thing to do with him after about 5 minutes. Praying tomorrow is a better day, as I have quite a bit of hair.
Here are a few picts we took tonight during the 15 minute happy time he had.
First off, Leslie James. This is our nephew, and Em and Johns middle child. I'm a middle child too, so we have a bond. Seriously he's a funny kid. So many stories to share about him but not enough time....maybe later! His birthday was yesterday. Happy Birthday Leslie!
And my good friend Sadie. She's a hoot, as you can see for yourselves in the pictures below. Happy Birthday Sads!!
She likes to dance :) And she's good!
(Please, don't judge me for all the grammar, errors in this post. I am so not good with all that. And Carrie I swear I was listening in English.)
Do you all know what weekend it is???? It's Alumni in CF. Yesterday the 25th, 5 years ago something magical happened. Well maybe not magical because we were at a bar, but anyway, Peter (Bud) and I met at the Alumni festivities. 5 years already!! I had just moved home from Vegas about a month earlier and was deciding on when to move to Chicago to be with my sis Shell. Bud and I of course were reminiscing about it last night and how fun/funny/odd/strange, it was that we did in fact meet up.
Tomorrow morning then will be Bud's 5 year with having a large rod in his leg. I met Bud on a Saturday night, then Sunday night which was super bowl Sunday he came over to my brother Chris's house to hang out, we went to RW, little did we know that was the last night he would drive his Blue Corsica. Early the next morning on his way to work he fell asleep and got hit by a couple cars. I was working that Monday when I went outside to have a smoke, I checked my messages on my phone and one was this lady saying, "Hi Abbie, this is Linda Flom, I'm Peters mom. He wanted me to call you and tell you that he was in a car accident this morning." My first thought was, "Peter." "Peter." "Who the heck is Peter?!" Because you know I met him as Bud, not Peter. I remember telling Michelle, "I think its the guy I met on Saturday night." What's a girl to do. Call him in the hospital?! I called Shell and told her about it, so I decided to call him and find out how he was doing.
So here we are 5 years later. He's a little less accident prone now, thank God. I was just thinking, I can't remember if when Bud was in the hospital for this accident or for something else he told me this story........So the nurse came in seduced me. I was like, "SHE WHAT!" And he responded, "She seduced me, you know put me out." I said, "You mean she sedated you." "Oh yeah, whatever." LOL.
One more funny story about the love.
A couple weeks ago, he told me he took a salad to lunch for work, I of course told him that's good and asked him how it was etc. He said it was good but in the morning when he made it was a big salad and by the time he got to eat it is was very small and whittling away. Then he goes on to tell me he had put the dressing on it in the morning. "Oh ish," I said to him. Now, why wouldn't you put it in another small container. I could about imagine how tasty and soggy that was!!!!
He's a riot. Gotta love him.
A couple picts from back when we were dating!
We had a fun weekend, Friday night we went with Trevor and Char out for supper in RW, we took Z out to my rents and put him to bed. I got done with hair about 7:45, so the plan was to take him out there get him to bed since mom was at work. I didn't want to have my dad try to get him to bed. It was fun to hang with Trev and Char since it had been awhile.
Saturday night we dropped Z off at his other grandma and grandpas and we went out in Cannon to celebrate Alumni weekend with some friends and family, we came back to town and went downtown because my friend Sadie was there celebrating her birthday with some friends at the local establishments. Good times.
Yesterday Zabe had his FINAL endoscope at St. Marys. The doctor said everything looks good. They can still see part of the burn on his esophagus but their is no narrowing so his future looks good. Thank God. This is of course the news we have been praying for. He does so well at these appointments and winks at the nurses. He's hilarious.
Bud hasn't been feeling well lately, I guess the cold/flu is really going around right now. He hasn't thrown up but is hot, then cold etc. He was going absolutely crazy and went to work today. He needed to get out and do something. Hopefully he starts feeling 100% real soon. You know how boys are when their not feeling well........MAN!!!
It's real chilly outside today, I couldn't believe it when the weather man said 60-70 degrees difference today compared to yesterday when you add in the wind chill. Global Warming anyone???
That's about all I know at the moment. Find the Wonderful in today and STAY warm.
I feel like I'm vacationing in Alaska.
......I feel for the cows today.
**Shelly requested a photo shoot, I am soooo ready to be able to get outside with Z and take some pictures out there. Today is not the day as it is -8 at 10:47. Brrrrrr. So these few pictures will have to do. (Thank you to Katie and Sadie, my new commenters.) Now if you'd both get yourselves a blog I could become a lurker at your sites!
The little turkey got into the diaper wipes that were in his diaper bag this morning. He thought it was pretty hilarious. He would bring them over to me and say, "Doe." with some gibberish before the doe, I think that's, "Here you go."
His vocabulary seams to be doing really well. Especially these days we have to stay inside, there are many rounds of the ABC's, Itsy Bitsy Spider, Patty Cake, Peak A Boo, and counting......oh and of course reading.
I think he was trying to clean my lens. ![]()
Punk.
First, as you can see I didn't go on and on about how men are such babies. All is said was MAN!! Hey, but do please believe me, I could go on and on and on and on and on about how different it is when a man get sick rather than a women. I just don't really get it that's all. I don't feel I get as crabby either. But that's just what I feel. I do believe the love doesn't feel good, which yes totally sucks, BUT seriously. He's going in to the doctor today, 2:45, so please say a prayer that all goes well. And just in case he has Pneumonia, Mono, Tonsillitis, or something more on that lines I will apologize to all men for anything hurtful I've ever said. Amen. hahahahha!! This is kind of fun. :)
If only men could have babies.......LOL!!! Should we go there? LOL.
This is what I said........

Does anyone know of anyone that has a vacation house anywhere in the Continental US, preferably a warm destination? We are looking for the end of March. If you do, all suggestions are MORE than welcome. Leave me a comment and let me know. Thanks.
Peter just got home from the doctor.......the verdict.....are you ready folks.
The common cold. That's it. A cold. He said the doc recommend he get some Saline Nasal Spray, so he showed it to me and had realized I completely forgot about my Neti Pot I bought a couple weeks ago. That thing cleared me up in no time. Still can't believe I forgot about the gall darn thing, but whatever. So, he walked in the door with this nasal spray and that is when I remember, so he did that and felt so relieved. He couldn't believe it. Really he couldn't.
He's Fiiiiiiine.
