Field Trip to the Pool

Since we live so close to the community pool yesterday I decided spur of the moment to take Zabe for a dip.  I blew up his floaty and off we went.

Speaking of doctors...I forgot to write how his doctor appointment went last Friday.  So I will inform you now.  He weighed 30.10, his height 2'7.25", and head is 48.3cm.  So the kid is big and tall.  It was pretty funny Zabe's doctor did an average of Bud's height and my height to do an average of what he thinks Zabe will be.  The verdict.....6'8"!!!!  He is going to be tall regardless if the doctor is off even by 4 inches.  All I said was, "Oh, my poor girl one day."  It's fine.

Otherwise Zabe is doing healthy and on track.  He crawls like crazy, stands next to everything, which then he thinks he can let go and try to pick up a toy 3 feet away from him.  He does very well though standing and seams very stable.  One more thing from the doctor...he had to get his finger pricked so they could do the lead test and check his iron.  He didn't cry just looked at the nurse when she did it and was like, "What was that?"  It was a hot day and he was moving like crazy so she said that it would probably be done bleeding by the time we got to the car.  Well, she puts the Band-Aid on and what is every 9 month old child going to do with a foreign object on his finger?? Put it in his mouth.  SO, the nurse goes, "Oh, don't let him put that into his mouth." WELL, ah, yes, I know!!  So she gave me a couple more Band-Aids in case he got it off.  So were walking to the car, he pulls the Band-Aid off, I'm sweating like crazy because again it's hot out and I'm carrying a 30lb child.  I look down at his hand, blood dripping down his arm.  A little prick can cause this much blood!!!  So I get him to my car, set him in the front seat to try to open another child proof bandaid, he's grabbing everything in site because he's in the front seat. Getting blood on the middle counsel, everywhere.  So finally get the bandaid on his clinching fist and him moving all over, just in time for him to pull it off in another couple seconds. So I try just holding a napkin on it to try to stop the bleeding and then the good mother I am after a 3rd failed bandaid on and off the finger, I gave up.  I took his new shirt off him so he wouldn't ruin it, and put him in his car seat, finger still bleeding and gave him a bottle.  Whew.  I was so hot and so frustrated.  Had I know he was going to bleed so much I would have stayed in the clinic until it had stopped.  I am still curious to know why they didn't just prick his foot.  It would have been soooo much easier.

He liked having his hand in the water. Splash, splash, splash.

He had to keep an eye on everyone there. "Hey, where did you go little girl?"

He liked the side of the pool and hanging on to it.  Not sure why but it was funny. These are about the best smiles I got the whole time, he was so not into his mom at the pool.  It's like he was acting like a teenager and wanted to impress his friends and his mom was just not so cool.  Funny.
