Field Trip to the Pool

Since we live so close to the community pool yesterday I decided spur of the moment to take Zabe for a dip.  I blew up his floaty and off we went.

Speaking of doctors...I forgot to write how his doctor appointment went last Friday.  So I will inform you now.  He weighed 30.10, his height 2'7.25", and head is 48.3cm.  So the kid is big and tall.  It was pretty funny Zabe's doctor did an average of Bud's height and my height to do an average of what he thinks Zabe will be.  The verdict.....6'8"!!!!  He is going to be tall regardless if the doctor is off even by 4 inches.  All I said was, "Oh, my poor girl one day."  It's fine.

Otherwise Zabe is doing healthy and on track.  He crawls like crazy, stands next to everything, which then he thinks he can let go and try to pick up a toy 3 feet away from him.  He does very well though standing and seams very stable.  One more thing from the doctor...he had to get his finger pricked so they could do the lead test and check his iron.  He didn't cry just looked at the nurse when she did it and was like, "What was that?"  It was a hot day and he was moving like crazy so she said that it would probably be done bleeding by the time we got to the car.  Well, she puts the Band-Aid on and what is every 9 month old child going to do with a foreign object on his finger?? Put it in his mouth.  SO, the nurse goes, "Oh, don't let him put that into his mouth." WELL, ah, yes, I know!!  So she gave me a couple more Band-Aids in case he got it off.  So were walking to the car, he pulls the Band-Aid off, I'm sweating like crazy because again it's hot out and I'm carrying a 30lb child.  I look down at his hand, blood dripping down his arm.  A little prick can cause this much blood!!!  So I get him to my car, set him in the front seat to try to open another child proof bandaid, he's grabbing everything in site because he's in the front seat. Getting blood on the middle counsel, everywhere.  So finally get the bandaid on his clinching fist and him moving all over, just in time for him to pull it off in another couple seconds. So I try just holding a napkin on it to try to stop the bleeding and then the good mother I am after a 3rd failed bandaid on and off the finger, I gave up.  I took his new shirt off him so he wouldn't ruin it, and put him in his car seat, finger still bleeding and gave him a bottle.  Whew.  I was so hot and so frustrated.  Had I know he was going to bleed so much I would have stayed in the clinic until it had stopped.  I am still curious to know why they didn't just prick his foot.  It would have been soooo much easier.

He liked having his hand in the water. Splash, splash, splash.

He had to keep an eye on everyone there. "Hey, where did you go little girl?"

He liked the side of the pool and hanging on to it.  Not sure why but it was funny. These are about the best smiles I got the whole time, he was so not into his mom at the pool.  It's like he was acting like a teenager and wanted to impress his friends and his mom was just not so cool.  Funny.

Stand up, get down.

Hanging onto the chair.

"Look mom one hand!"

 Workin' his way down.

Ahhh, I got down.

  And got the phone.

We were with Shell and Ann for the day today, and picked up Z a new hat from Targets $1.00 section.  You know me with hats and such-perfect photo opportunity.

Fun at the Dakota County Fair

Bud was in the demolition derby Wednesday and Thursday nights and I had the honor to sponsor him.  LOL!!! A little advertising in the program.  Anyway, Zabe went to Auntie Lori's house for the evening so mommy could have a night out.  What a night out it was....I decided to ride with Bud instead of driving up later by myself.  We arrived at the fair around 5 and waited in line for about an hour to get checked in.  Oh my the things you so at a demo.  From the guys attire, to the things wrote on their cars to their potty mouths.  Amazing.  Anyway, it was a late night, I picked up Z about 12:30.  I was so ready to go at about 10:00.   Bud did very well and got 2nd both nights.  (I did not go Thursday night because I had enough fun Wed. night)  Once you have seen 1 derby sometimes I think that it's enough for about 6 years.  Bud does love it though.

While we were waiting to get checked this is the guy we were parked behind and this bumper sticker was on his derby car.  I said to Bud, "Do you think I should go ask him if I should leave?" These bumper stickers make me crazy.  I was like, "I can't wait to see the guy to see what he looks like!"  Sure enough he was a tall, super skinny kid. Punk.

A nicely painted John Deere car.

Do you think this guys girlfriend painted the car??? Women.

Bud in his car. Go  #100!!! So Bud hit a guy so hard the guys car flipped onto his hood.  You can see the guy climbing out.  He was fine!! Arms up in the air.  Once they got the car flipped back over he got back in and finished out the derby. Look at all the firefighters that came out to investigate. Right after Bud placed 2nd, I am not sure what Jason was doing looking under the car?

Bud was talking with his friends and he was trying to be cool so when I said, "Honey, look at me and hold your trophy up." He tried ignoring me.  Whatever.

Ann, Shelly and Greg came to watch.  Fun times!!

Cayden and Carsyn

I took Cayden's baby pictures a few weeks ago and then some of Carsyn a few days ago.  It was so fun!!! I then made baby announcements and invites for Caydens baptism.  Thanks Kim for having me do this for you!

200th Post

I just realized this is my 200th post.  So I thought I should write something....I don't know maybe an update on Zabe!!

He is doing excellent.  Saturday he will be 10 months already.  I mean seriously where does the time go.  I was talking to my mom and sisters last night about planning his 1st birthday party!!  Seriously.  That seams strange to me!  I mean he's just a baby!!

Everyday you can see new development in the things he does.

-crawling everywhere

-pulls himself up and stands next to everything, and will walk around furniture.

-mama, dada but his first choice is of course mama

-loves his brother Howie!!  Howie still gets annoyed with him and goes and finds a corner to hide in

-LOVES being on the go.  Sometimes it makes it hard if we have a day with no hair and we are at home all day, he loves people coming and going here and a lot of the times when one of my clients picks him up he starts waving bye to me.  He just loves going!!  And then does so well when we are out and about.

-I think he seriously gets sick of being with me all the time.  He can get very fussy and the minute someone else walks through the door he's a new kid.

-Clients also say how they can't believe how well he entertains himself and thank goodness he does....most of the time!

-I think I will say that again I think or it sounds...like he wants to say more words.   Occasionally he will throw out BALL still.  Twice now when I am giving him a drink of my water in a cup he has said what sounds like MORE, and the other day when I said to him, "Should we go to Grandmas he said something on the MA lines.  He tries so hard to mimic what I say.  He moves his lips and opens his mouth and tries to say it.

-He has this leapfrog toy and there is a ball on it that you spin and it says hello in I think maybe 5 languages so if we are playing and I say, for example Bonjour, or Conitchiwa or Hello, he will go spin the ball.  He loves it!!

-Still does not eat food the greatest, a little jar of baby food usually last 2-3 days.  Errr.  He eats so well when someone else feeds him....strange.

-SLEEPS through the NIGHT!!! Again.  Finally!!! It is soooo nice.

-My dad got Zabe a toy John Deere tractor when he was born and for quite a while now he will push it and make tractor noises.  It is so funny and so cute.  I need to get it on video because it is just so gall darn cute.

I think this pretty much sums it up where he is at.  He is at a very fun age just because he is picking up on everything so well.....no I'm not ready for another one!!!

Gone for the Weekend.

We are headed up north bright and early to kick of this years bear bateing season.  You all know me and how much I love to hunt, so I am extremely looking forward to going into the wilderness dropping some grease and cookies on some logs, and hoping and praying I get stung by a swarm of bees........So not funny about the bees. THAT REALLY HURT!!! And I am sure my husbands brother and wife do not want to see me stripping down to my undies and running out of the forest with no pants on. Not cute.

Anyway should be a fun weekend.  Looking forward to getting away for a couple days.

Happy 10 month Birthday Z-man on Saturday!!  Love you buddy!

Look at his face being smushed by daddy's.

Oh beautiful for spacious skies of amber waves of grain......I so am trying to pretend I am in church singing that song but I just can't remember the lyrics. Oh how I love the picture though.

Oh Christmas Tree, O Christmas Tree how lovely are your dead branches.

Oh Pretty flower Oh pretty flower, your leaves are as green as our grass now, huh what was I saying....

The itsy bitsy spider went up the little weed.......I'm sure this weed has a name but I haven't a clue.

choo-choo

As most of you I am not one for trains but there was something that made me want to stop and the tracks and take a picture of the tracks.  Bud couldn't believe it nor could I but I thought it was so beautiful.  We were out where I thought was in the middle of no mans land bear baiting and came across the tracks. Very cool!

wanna race sis?

A few times when Bud and Jeremy went into the woods, the kids and I stayed back to look for "tracks" on the road.  To keep the kids "busy" they started running.  And boy can they run.  I don't know any little girls that can run as good as Charley does with those boots of hers.  It was so cute and so fun watching them play together so well.  They were loving it and loving each other.

On your mark get set....GO!!!

You coming sis?

"Jackie, There is no way I am running all that way!"  "I will just stay and wait for you here!"

"Faster, Faster, I shouted!"  Kidding!!!

Happy Jackson making his way across the finish line.  He can't tell you enough how fast he is and how he is the fastest boy ever!

Then after each run they would go check on baby Zabey and see how he was doing.  Most of the time they say, "Your so cute, he's so cute. Baby Zabey your so cute."

We had a good time baiting those bears didn't we guys.

See you this weekend.

BASMENT STAIRS.....no more

Why a baby gate you may ask.  See picture below.

We no longer have stairs to get to our basement.  Bud put the baby gate there so I would not open the door and fall.  What a nice guy huh.  That must be love.  I was going to write myself a note because I seriously would have probably ran down there without thinking.  Bud came home from work yesterday and ripped them out.  They were pretty bad, but I have become so used to them that they did not bother me at all.  So tomorrow a.m. Bud and his old boss Mike are going to put the new ones in.  I am a little nervous because before he ripped them out we had a landing on the top which was pretty much a catch all spot for laundry etc.  When he puts the new stairs in we will no longer have a landing on the top.  Scary thought but hopefully with the new shiny wood stairs I won't forget and roll down the stairs.  Who knows.  If it won't be me falling down it for sure will be Bud.  He will spend hours putting them in and then totally forget in a few weeks and fall right down.  I was doing a photo shoot last night while he started this project and I called him and he says, "I'm not sure how I am going to crawl up out of here, I forgot to bring a ladder down with me!"  That is so my Bud.  So he piled up 3 pails, took out the window that you see on the right side of the picture and shimmied his way out.  Too funny.  I was not the least bit surprised he forgot to take one down with him.

A few picts of my baby.

Oh, Such a sweet baby.  He is so into turning his head and pretending to be shy.  He knows he's not.  He just likes to pretend.  He totally knows how to win the heart of someone.  Funny story about him this a.m. after is bottle.  I was in the other room, and he was laying there eating so nicely and after a little bit I could hear him sitting up.  I knew he must be done eating then I hear what sounds EXACTLY like, Oh yeah, Oh yeah.  I laughed out loud because it was so cute and so funny.  Like he just got done eating and then it was time to play, Oh yeah. Oh yeah.  Funny.

Sweet little toes.

Come here you little banana.  Almost got you.

Ah, nummy bananas.

Have a great day.  I am getting a massage today.  Can't hardly wait.  So excited!!!!!

FYI-----Bud is having his annual party this Saturday.  Everyone is invited!!! Come join the fun.  No cops this year I promise.....Well maybe just Adam H.

Fun with grandpa in the John Deere

(a few photos courtesy of auntie shelly) Great Job Shell.

Zabe rode with my dad while Shelly and I were merging....I know where are the pictures of us??????  Working so hard.

Zabe was a good boy with grandpa.  He rode for a couple hours.  I believe he just takes it all in because he doesn't show much emotion.  He loves it though.  Dad said he was making the tractor noises occasionally.  We haven't helped on the farm since first crop so it was time for Zabe to get back out there to help.

Tony, Dad and Casey having a quick chat.

There goes Uncle Luke.

Awwww. so sweet.  mom and dad

...and of course my god daughter.  She loves me!!!

I have always wanted a dish washer.

Let's take votes on when he will be washing my dishes for me?  I hope soon.

He is so tall.  It kind of scares me because he will also stand next to the stove like this.  It is not going to be to long I'm afraid until he can reach the burner.  SCARY.  Hopefully we can keep him away from it.  I am just going to let him practice on the kitchen sink.  I really need someone to wash my dishes for me.  That's why we have kids right.....to do our cleaning....

Zabe's 4th trim

BEFORE

AFTER

"Ah....What did you do to my hair mom?"

Cheeezzzzzzeeeeeee. (he was ready to get down)

Mother Nature and Squirrels

I noticed on a couple of our trees today that there is a little color starting to change.  I can't believe it is about that time of the year already.  I don't feel like they have been green all that long.

This tree is in our neighbors yard and it is so pretty when it changes colors.

Then we have these little punks that like to dig up the lawn and hide their food for the winter.  This little guy was on the look out when he was hiding his winter feast.

Dig, dig, dig.

Ah, then we have the regular skateboarders cruising along.

Then the little guy covers up his hole.  (This was the first time I have watched one of these critters so in depth)  Kind of interesting.

All done.  Time to move on to the next one.

"Hey lady!"

Here he comes another one in store.

"Don't you have anything better to do lady than watch me?"

And the cycle begins again.   Sweet.  (Bud loves the squirrels and rabbits in our back yard) .....kidding.  I do like the albino squirrels we do have however.  They are kind of pretty. But today it was this guys luck to be posted on Zabud.

Charley and Jackson

I forgot about this picture but it is one of my favorites of the two kids playing when we were up bateing.  I just think it is so cute....had to share.

Mirror Shoot

Ok, so I know Zabe loves the mirror, he looks at himself in bed, he looks at himself in the car.  He sees himself every time I'm holding him and we walk into the salon so the kid "sees" himself quite often I thought.....until I put him in front of my huge mirror in the salon.  He LOVED himself.  But why wouldn't he.  If I were that cute I would kiss myself too.  I think this is some of my favorite pictures of him yet.  He looks so grown up.  He is not a baby anymore. I think it's maybe his knew hair cut, or maybe it's his outfit.  Or maybe it was the shoes he had on.  I don't know.  I just love him so. :)

Kissing himself.  LOL!!!  What a goof.  This is why I grabbed my camera.  I set him up there while I was doing my hair and then he went in for the kiss.  Too funny.  He did it a few times, and the best part he did it without being coached.

It's like he's having a talk with himself.

Oh my sweet baby.  SO DARN CUTE!!!!

I love his hands.  They are so perfect.

And I love this look.  So serious, so curious, and so mischievous!!  Like he's planning something.

So serious. He heard something outside and he wants to know what it was.

Checking out his hand.  Makes you wonder what is going through that brilliant young mind!!

...LOVE HIM!!!!
