Abbie, Bud and Zabe

Call me crazy, stupid, or.....smart!!  I was at the local Walmart store today and was checking out this rack that they normally have discounted bread on.  Today there were a couple carts with a lot of clearanced items on them.  I looked down and saw Similac Organic Formula.  I looked closer and it said $4.50, on the small cans.  I about lost it.  You have got to be kidding right, looked closer and to my disbelief it was actually that cheap!!  Then I saw the big cans for $15.00.  Now mind you Similac Organic formula usually sells for $14.92 for the little can and $27.00 for the big can.  So I put all 7 the little cans in my cart. 

I recently just switched Zabe to the Parent's Choice Organic formula because the big can is around $15.00 and I can save a lot of money by buying that.  I researched Parent's Choice and it seamed like some good stuff, although I was not to happy with the consistency because it seems kind of foamy.  So the last couple times I have gotten Similac.  (I found it in Roch for $20.00 a can not to long ago, clearanced out and thought that was a pretty good steal.) Anyway, I called my mom then and she said she would take a couple cans of this, plus the babies in the family would probably use it also if I didn't.  So...I bought them all.  I think Walmart is getting rid of all Similac formula and going to have just Enfamil and Parent's Choice that is why it was clearanced out...I'm guessing. 

Funny story as I was checking out, mind you I have 16 cans of the same formula, and the lady ringing me up says, "Did you get them all?" "I sure did, I said."  Then a couple seconds later she says, after she has rang up about half of them says, "Is it Organic?" HAHAHAHAH I about died.  Seriously lady??? Man it was funny. 

Saturday night the fog in the valley behind my parents house was so neat.  We could see it really well as we were driving on the gravel roads to their house.  I of course had to capture it then.

  And the sunsets in the country.....priceless.

Zabe and I had JD hats on on Saturday.  He had never seen me in a hat before so he just kind of kept staring at me like, "What are you doing?"

We had a great weekend.  Not a whole lot that went on which is always so nice.  Bud helped Tony with his house all day today.  I think they managed to get quite a bit done, even though it rained and sprinkled on and off.  Z and I hung out with my mom a lot today and yesterday.  Shelly surprised us yesterday and came to hang out for a while.  Ann had to work in the afternoon so she didn't get to stay and bond for too long.  The weekends seam to fly by.  Have a great week!!! 

We lost a tree last Wednesday in the wind storms.  I didn't think that it was really that windy but the tree thought so and came crashing down.  I didn't hear the crash, but our neighbor did.  I was in the house slaving away at my sister-in-law Emily's hair...and her two sons....and her friend.  And trying to be a mother and a host and.....totally kidding. 

Holden came running in the house and said, "You have a tree down in your back yard!!" 

So of course my husband was out there ASAP getting the tree cleaned up.  Luckily, the tree fell in between both of his gardens...I mean his garden and my flower garden, I mean my cucumber garden. lol whatever.  I think every chain saw cut he made, he was praising the heavens above for not letting it fall on "his" beloved garden. 

Now as I look at this tree in the picture it looks so little, but up close and personal, picking up its branches and debris it sure seemed a whole heck of A LOT bigger. 

Where's Waldo? I mean Bud?

On Monday, Bud took the day off to spend with his family.  I had to run to the cities to do a few errands so he came with.  We went to National Camera exchange so I could return the lens he gave me for mother's day and find something I liked better (and that I would use).  I of course found one and I love it.  I got a Tamron AF 18-200.  I haven't had a big shoot with my model Z yet but in due time.  I don't think I will need a new lens any time soon :)

Zabe met his 1st cousin once removed tonight.  lol.  Actually it's his 2nd cousin.  Benny's mom is my 1st cousin Katie.  She had Benny just 3 days before Zabe came along.  Benny is a doll, and of course much smaller than Zabe.  It's amazing because when I read Benny's blog and see pictures of him I think he looks bigger.  I just can't imagine what people are thinking then when they see Zabe.  I think it finally sunk in tonight that Zabe is going to be a BIG kid his entire life.  O-well.  He's happy, healthy and oh, so darn cute. 

It was great to see Katie and Benny.  They live in Washington, D.C. so this was are first time meeting Benny.  It's been a while since I have seen Katie also.  We went to Mayme's for dinner.  Shelly, Alicia, Theresa and Mary Claire were also there.  Thanks Mayme for the delicious supper!!!

Zabe has been saying mama.  YEAH!!!! Finally!!  He said it yesterday morning for the first time when I said it to him he said it back.  I was shocked.  I said it a few more times and he repeated.  Not sure if he understands the concept of it all yet but who cares he said it.  Today I set him down and he started whining and was saying, mama mamamam.  Pretty exciting.

Unfortunately Zabe is about to be on the move.  He gets almost all the way in the crawling position and then will sit back down on his butt.  He has problems with one of his feet being tucked in under him.  But today he actually got it out and was trying to get a toy! Thank God he didn't figure it out, he just plopped to his stomach.  Errrr....I would really like this crawling stuff to wait till he is about 14.  It will be interesting trying to keep him in the room with me while I do hair.  The other thing is that we are going to Canada in a couple weeks and I really don't want him to figure it out until we get back home.  The floor of the cabin is plywood and I don't think that would feel to go on the ol' knees!  Could you imagine!!! Ouch.  Who knows maybe it will take him a couple months to figure out the whole process of moving his hands and legs.  Time will tell.  He needs to finish figuring out rolling before he starts crawling.  He is rolling some from his back to his stomach, but not stomach to back yet to well.  If he is laying on my bed he will go both ways, but not much. 

Ab and Jenna came today to get Ab's hair done.  Already....I swear we just did it last week!!  Kidding.  It was way time to do it.  The day we were going to do it was the day Jenna was born so we had to put it on a hold again.  Jenna is a doll.  She is 4 weeks old already and is just so petite.  She looks just like her older brother J.J.  Jenna had a dress on today.  It was so adorable.  Ab said when she put it on her it was more like a mini skirt.  It was so cute though!!!

Bud finished the deck yesterday in front of the salon.  I wasn't to sure if I wanted a complete railing and all deck but I love it.  I think it looks really nice and really adds to the salon and house.  I can't wait till he gets the front porch finished, it will really add to the house and make it look even nicer.  He will be finishing the deck by putting the sealer/stain/varnish, whatever it is called on it to protect it.  Thanks Peter for sweating your little butt off yesterday in the 90 degree weather to get it done, it looks so nice!!

So I get home and take all of the picts off my camera from today.  Ann had been taking some shots with my camera, here is a couple I about lost it over when I saw them close up!!! They are hilarious.  Shelly burnt the appetizer.

Happy Fathers Day to my dad!!  And happy father's day to my brothers and to my father-in-law.  I couldn't be more blessed with the 2 wonderful fathers that I have!!!  Thanks for everything Les and THANKS DAD FOR LIFE!!!

Happy 1st Fathers Day to a wonderful new dad.  Every day I can see you falling more in love with Zabe, you do such a good job with him, he is so blessed to have you as his father.  I can't wait to see what you will teach him in these years to come! (well maybe) but you will do it so well!!    Many more happy fathers day. We love you.

2 years come and gone already.  Like Alicia said to me on text this morning only 58 more til our 60th. lol.  That is a long time away!!!  Thanks Bud for being once again a loving husband and father.  I love you. 

  8 months already......we were about to go outside today to take a few picts when as soon as we were walking out there it started to rain so we came in the house and had a little photo shoot.  Z had just woke up from a nap so he was kind of out of it and still a little tired too.  We did manage to capture a few decent ones. 

Zabe had another tooth pop threw yesterday, he also has his very 1st runny nose with it.  He absolutely hates having his face wiped so every time I wiped it today there were tears to follow.  Poor kid.  I wonder why he doesn't like it to be wiped.  I mean it takes 3 seconds literally.  Whatever. 

Also, everyday we are getting closer to crawling.  I just really wonder when it will be.  It still sucks though that he isn't rolling from his stomach to his back because he is not in love with being on his tummy for to long.  Then I have to go sit him back up which then he acts like a board and can't bend at the waist and knees and he just wants to stand.  So it makes my job a little harder.  lol.  He's getting more and more fun everyday.  His personality is cracking me up all the time.  He has such a little temper on him sometimes over the stupidest things.  He gets all stiff again, his face turns bright red.....and yeah whatever can't wait for the teen years.  lol. 

Zabe was sitting on the couch tonight with Bud while Bud was eating supper and I was doing laundry.  Zabe wouldn't take his eyes off Bud's hamburger.  I grabbed the camera to take some pictures because it was so funny, then Bud put the hamburger up to Zabe's mouth and wanted it soooo bad.   (he didn't get any)  Anyway, when Bud finished eating Zabe immediately started to cry.  He wanted some and he was so disappointed that his father wasn't sharing.  It was so cute seeing him sit next to Bud and then Z started to climb all over him to get to the sandwich.  Funny.

Z and I had a photo shoot outside today.  I loved so many of the pictures because it totally captured his silly little looks he does.  He was in such a good mood because he had: A.) just woke from a much needed nap and B.) had just ate.  So he was in a great mood.  There were so many cute picts that I had to put up because I just couldn't resist.

Zabe is not feeling the best. He has a temp and did not sleep well last night. Praying tonight goes much better. I went to bed last night at 9:00. The earliest in like forever, it was a darn good thing I did because Zabe was up at 11:00 until about 3:00 crying and totally not himself. It was so sad, because that was the first time he has ever cried for so long, and the first time I have ever been like, "What do I do?" Bud came down stairs and slept on the couch around 1, which was so nice so then I could try and get a little sleep. Today hasn't been a ton of fun, and I didn't feel the perkiest either, I was pretty weak and just didn't feel well. This also doesn’t happen to often. I think the best thing that has come out of this is that Zabe is the most cuddly he has probably ever been. It is so nice to have him snuggle up to me and then even falling asleep like that. Ahhh, my baby. Another great thing about him/us not feeling good today, if this were next Sunday we would be up a crick because we are going to Canada for a week. Could you imagine? Traveling 10 hours with a sick baby.....

I just love this picture of Carsyn.  He is just so darn cute, and growing up soooo fast.  I love you Cars.

I took Zabe into the doctor today, usually for the symptoms he has been having most of you know that I would prefer not to take him in and let the "virus" work it's way out. Well, since we are leaving for Canada Sunday, I did not want him to get worse as the week goes and end up being disappointed later in the week. So off to the doctor we went today. Zabe tipped the scale at 29.2lbs, not bad considering he's 8 months and at 6 months the little fatty was 26lbs. Anyway, I thought Zabe maybe had an ear infection because his ear had a little nasty whitish residue draining from it. The doc said that it was like a swimmer's ear, he had a lot of wax build up and behind the wax was water, so he dug it out and my poor baby screamed like he was being attacked by a herd of wild creatures. After what seamed like an eternity of digging and scrapping I made it through I mean Zabe made it through and was put on some antibiotics. Hopefully he will be in perfect shape for our trip.

THEN I HAD A HAIRCUT AND A BATH, THEN FINALLY I GOT TO PLAY WITH MY TOYS.

THEN MY DAD CAME HOME AND PUMPED UP MY POOL AND I WENT SWIMMING IN -30 DEGREE WATER.  HE TOLD MOM HE PUT WARM WATER IN TOO BUT IT WAS STILL PRETTY CHILLY.

AND FOR SOME REASON HE PUT ME IN THE DIRECT SUNLIGHT AND I HAD TO SQUINT FOR PICTURES.  BUT I LOVED THE POOL.

....he slept through the night...until 8:00am...

but not after going to bed until almost 10:30.

We are officially in the chasing mode. Zabe is getting around like crazy. AMAZING! I think it is absolutely insane how fast he figured it out once he started going. He started by crawling/scooting and now he pretty much scoots. He crawls on one leg and the other leg that is tucked under he just drags it along. And the little guy is quick. It seams like every move he gets a little faster. And if he wants something (Howie's ball) he goes mock 10 to get it. Yesterday, I had a busy day in the salon so he was with me most of the day until my mom came to help for a little while, he was exploring the whole salon. I can't get over how strong he is. Seriously. He was sitting next to the shampoo bowl chair and all of a sudden he had flipped the chair. He must have got a hold of the leg and the chair went right over. My client and I were like, Ah!! He was also pulling himself up onto a shelf I have in there. Oh my gosh. I don't know what happened to my baby. So there goes my hopes of him not crawling before Canada.

He also got another tooth a couple weeks ago. Charlotte was here the other day and told me I hadn't bloged that for the records, so there we go. It's pretty funny looking. 1 tooth on top and 2 on bottom. I think the other one on top is going to be coming really soon.

Lots to get done today. Packing, cleaning, run to RW, taking Howie to the dog sitter!!!! (YES!) He is going to one of my clients house for the week. I am sure he will love it...or I am sure I will for him.

I am not sure if I will get back on here to post before we leave for vacation so I wanted to put this up now.  It's my 4th of July cards I sent out this year.  lol....I know who does that?  But,  I hadn't sent any picts of him out since Valentines Day, I know again, who does that?  You know me random.  So anyway, hope you all have a safe and wonderful Independence Day.
