The second tooth has arrived....

The look of a crabby baby with a new tooth.

Sink Hole in the Road

Bud took me out on a "date" Saturday night, as we sped down the gravel road leaving Les and Linda's Bud noticed a sink hole in the middle of the road, so of course we had to turn around and go check it out.  Since we had the camera in the car I couldn't let a good picture get away from me so I jumped out and snapped a few picts.  It was pretty neat actually.  Glad we turned around.

poor baby

I just couldn't resist.  As I was taking a few picts of Zabe he all of a sudden got really upset.  His facial expressions crack me up when he is crying because the are so darn cute.  He is doing real well with this new tooth.  I could defiantly tell something was up this time around.  Friday he had many runny diapers so I figured it was either a tooth or he was getting sick.  By yesterday morning I could feel the tooth.  Now today you can see it.  It amazes me that you can pretty much sit and watch the tooth come in.  I only have one thing to say about this tooth being on the bottom right along side the other tooth....THANK GOD!!!

The bottom lip.  How cute is that?

Busy, Busy, Busy

It has been just crazy lately. Lots of hair, doctor appointments for Bud, hmmm what else now I am drawing a blank. Oh, raising a child etc. Z is doing fabulous. He is much happier now that his second tooth is in. He was cracking up tonight at me when I was talking to him. Well actually I would say, "Boo!" And he would look at me and smile, then I would do, "Boo, Boo, Boo!! And he would just laugh and laugh. I was kind of shaking my head as I said it to him and he thought it was hilarious. Good thing no one was watching because that would have been embarrassing. The things we (I) do to have my child crack up at me.

I weighed Z today. Of course I hopped on first and weighed myself then grabbed him. I think he is "only" about 20lbs. I hate the scale especially when you see the numbers go up so high when you weigh your child with you. Whatever. Stupid scales.

Not much else going on here. Hopefully tomorrow I will get some picts of Z. I feel like it's been a coon's age since I had the camera out. Tear.

.........Seriously, could it get any colder outside? I think it is about 25 degrees out not to mention that it is snowing in April. 8 days ago we were at 85. What ever happened to April SHOWERS bring May flowers. Not April snow storms bring May flowers.

Zabe's night.....

It was a long one for his mother!!! Well actually not really is was a short one.  Zabe was pretty fussy and tired from about 6-7 last night so I laid him down in my bed at 7 to have him take one of his usual cat naps.  An hour went by then another hour went by and he was still sleeping.  Bud was ready to go to bed at about 9:30, so I moved Z into his crib.  At about 10:15 he was awake.  I figured he was ready to eat and was praying he didn't want to be up to play.  I nursed him in bed and he was out.  Thank God, so back to his bed he went.  At 1:10am he was up again.  Fed him and out he was.  4:30 (I think, somewhere around there) he was up again!!!  Bud got up shortly there after so I kept Z in bed with me until he was wide awake at 7.  I didn't realize it was so early till I rolled over and saw the clock.  I thought it was going to be about 9:00 or I was hoping it was going to be about 10:00.  So we are up and atem this am.  He is very well rested and playing in his walker.  Very happy.  I actually don't feel like I was up half a dozen times.  That was definatally the most we have been up in a very long time!!! He must being going through a growing spurt!!

I weighed him yesterday and he is 21 lbs.  So I don't think he has gained anything since his 4 month appointment.  He goes in next week for his 6 month checkup.

the second haircut

a man loves his yard work

I looked outside tonight and this is what I see....

Yes.  That is Bud on his knees.  I had no idea what he was working on until I saw this...

He is sooo ready for spring/summer.

Did I already mention he is getting so excited for spring/summer.  Notice the snow falling!!! I am so sick of this weather!!!  Last night Bud plowed the rest of our backyard into a garden.  Seriously.  He has some big plans this summer for all sorts of different veggies.

Our backyard turned garden. (bud just came and looked what I was doing and said, "Hon, don't be mad we have a big garden, I want sweet corn and everythin!")  lol.

He loves all that outside work, the garden, the driveway, the garage, etc.  That's ok.  I don't care for all that stuff.  You go ahead Bud and pick the weeds in the garden.  Just no chemicals on it!!

happy belated keester.

I love digital scrap booking!!

Wednesday night after driving home in terrible road conditions....seriously it was terrible.  I about got ran over by a semi.  Then I started flashing my lights at him because he was passing and started coming over to my lane, so then he scooted over and thanked me by flashing his lights at me.  (you know when you are being nice to a semi driver and you do that.  I  wasn't trying to be nice) I was mad and wanted to get home safely.  Thank God I did.  Thursday morning, I had hair starting at 9.  Thank God Z had a great night sleep and was only up once at 6.  My first client was my good friend Amanda Hainka.  Her 3 little girls were so much fun to have around.  They are hilarious.

Emma 2 1/2, Zabe 6 months, Hazley 2 1/2 and Madigan 1

Hazley and Emma (they are twins)

Hazley loved the camera.  She wanted to "model"!  Too cute.  It was so fun to see Amanda's girls and Amanda too.

Our week

I feel like it has been awhile since I have updated.  I can't believe it's already Friday.  I am not sure what we have done all week.  Tuesday I had a meeting in RW at the Allure School of Cosmetology to review the few days I had worked there.  It is always fun to see everyone and the students.  I think I am going to work there for a week every 13 weeks.  I am going to teach the color class.  YEA!!!  That is exactly where I would like to be if I am going to work there occassionally.

Shelly and I went to the Twins game on Wednesday night and Z hung out at home with his daddy.  Shel and I had a great time.

The man sitting next to Shel took our picture.  He insisted!

They WON!!! 5-1

Tori Hunter......gotta love him!!!

Carsyn & his daddy

Casey and Carsyn stopped by moms this afternoon on the 4-wheeler and I had to take a few picts of them.  How cute is he?  Just chillin.

Shi-Shi (SHE-SHE)

(GEILA'S NICKNAME FROM HER DAD BUT I CAN'T REMEMBER WHAT IT MEANS)

Saturday night I went and stayed at my girlfriend Geila's house in Anoka. (aka God's Country)  We had a wonderful time relaxing and doing lots of reminiscing about cosmetology school at Aveda, our move to Las Vegas, my wedding etc.  Geila and her fiance Chris are getting married May of '08.  Chris is the perfect guy for my "mama"!!  Thanks mama for the "vacation"! (When Geila comes to Goodhue she calls it her vacation so I only thought it was appropriate that going up there for the night was my vacation.)   Good times.

Geila.

Chris and Geila

Geila bought her wedding dress yesterday and the bridal shop gave her a bottle of champagne so we had to celebrate.  (it was pretty tart so we had about 4 sips.....seriously)

Little Rascal

So happy.

Playing away.

Whhooooo.

Timber....

He thought it was funny.  To push himself over on the pillows.  He would be sitting there and then all of a sudden kick so he would fall backwards.  Then he would talk and scream (in a play full way). It was pretty comical.   It just looks like he would be hitting his head on the floor.  He really wasn't.

Spoon

After I got done feeding Zabe some Earths Best Organic Oatmeal Cereal and Organic Applesauce I let him try out the spoon by himself.  He was lovin it.  One time he had the spoon hanging out of his mouth not holding on to it.  That is when I decided to grab the camera but of course then he didn't do it again.

I took the spoon away, so he decided to eat his bib instead.

Zabe and his daddy....and brother Howie

Bud came home yesterday to see Zabe on his birthday before he went to his "2nd job".  He was off yesterday turkey hunting with his dad.  When he came home Zabe and I were in the middle of a photo shoot.  The pictures that I put up yesterday of Zabe looking away from the camera were from trying to find Bud.  Bud was in the kitchen and Zabe could hear his voice but couldn't see him.  Too cute.  Zabe has been an excellent boy lately.  Sleeping so well again.  Last night he slept from 8:30 to 7:00.  My mom came yesterday to watch Z while I did hair.  She took him for a walk and when they pulled back into the driveway he started crying.  She said he was talking away the whole walk.  He loves being outside.  Good thing he is young enough to get over it real quick once he gets in the house.  I know that won't last for long before we know it he will want to be out there all the time...just like his father.

A few picts of Zabe and Daddy and then Howie too.

As you can see Howie was getting a little jealous of the attention he was not receiving...

so he nestled up right by Zabe.

And then of course Zabe wanted to try and eat his brother.

6 month Wellness appointment

Zabe had his 6 month wellness appointment yesterday.  Bud even got to come along for the fun.  I asked Bud on the way in when the last time was that he came with and we figured it out it was like when I was 18 weeks pregnant!!! What a father. Zabe checked out real well.  He was a healthy 25lbs 12oz.  He of course was the normal ham he is while getting all checked out.  Notice how happy he is sitting on the scale.  If only that never changed as we got older.

...about that doctor appointment.

As we were getting ready to leave the house, I was like, "Ooo, I gotta grab the camera!" Bud's like, "The camera?!" "Well yes!" I put it on and had it around my neck as I walked to the car and Bud says, "Are you just going to walk into the doctor like that?" I said, "Why not?" It was pretty funny. I put it in the diaper bag so I would no embarrass my husband. Like it's really that big of a deal.

So then while we were at the clinic Bud decided to check to see if he could get his INR done. I said Zabe and I are going to come back with you today. (It takes like 5 minutes) as he is sitting there getting his finger pricked I said, "Bud, do you want your picture taken since you have been such a good boy?" He just looked at me like I was crazy, and shook his head no. Could you imagine the look on Buds face if I were to have actually taken a picture of him. LOL. I should have. It would have been hilarious. I don't think the car ride home would have been to hilarious though.

Happy Earth Day

Happy Earth Day.  Go Green!!

A man and his son.....and tractor

So today Bud rose at about 5:30, he was so excited to til our back yard, excuse me our garden.  He couldn't wait to do this.  He got the tractor from his boss and the tiller thingy from his neighbor.  At about 8:15 he came up to the room and was like, "Did you hear that thing?" I replied, "Ah, no Bud, I was sleeping."  Then he proceeds to talk to Zabe (who was in bed with me, awake) like he of course is 12, saying,  "Should we go see the tractor? You wanna go for a ride?"

So outside we go.  I don't think I, in my whole like have ever gotten up and went outside so quick.  Either has Zabe in his short life.  I think the whole time we were out there he was wondering what the heck was going on and what the hurry was to get up and out there so fast.  As you can see in the pictures Bud dressed Zabe in his John Deere shirt.  He must have wanted Zabe to know that John Deere is the "real" tractor.  Who knows.

How cute is that?

Bud loving it of course.  Zabe is still wondering what the heck happened and why we were outside so fast.

Don't you just wish you could read Bud's mind???  Zabe was trying to take over the wheel.

 Like father like son.

Our backyard.  I mean our garden.  Seriously it can't get much bigger.  Saturday night we went out for supper and got Bud's seeds for the garden.  Carrots, potatoes, cucumbers, onions, & radishes.  The tomatoes, and peppers are coming I guess.

Ha, Ha, Ha, Bud will try and tell you that I wanted this little flower garden and in all do respect to my husband.  It was his idea.  Last year we planted some very nice sunflowers in our garden and this year he said they weren't going in there.  So this morning Bud says, "Hon, you want a little flower garden?  I think right back here should do."  "Ok, Bud, whatever you think."  I just do want some backyard for our children to be able to run and play.  Cracks me up.  He loves the outdoors.  And he loves these gardens.  Good thing because I am not much of a green thumb.  All that bending, pulling weeds, dirty, dirty hands. Ish.

Field Trip to the farm 4-20-07

Some nice organic silage. lol

Random. I know.

Speaking of Random.....you never know when you are going to need the crayons.

I only thought it was appropriate.  Tony was in the milk house and gave me the great idea to put Zabe's organic formula on the bulk tank.

The men in the parlor. Tony and Chris chatting with Zabe.  Uncle Steve and Casey in the background.

My father bringing in more cows to be milked.  He was laughing at me because I was taking pictures of him while I was talking to him.

Organic Valley....where the milk goes. Look for Organic Valley at your local grocery store.

Its hard to be a boy on a farm.

my poor camera.....and son

My camera must be wondering what is going on.  I have not used the thing in like...forever.  Poor thing.  I mean what kind of mother am I? How is Zabe suppose to remember these past few weeks days? Lol.

I can't believe it's Friday tomorrow.  Already!!  We have had a very busy  week.  On Monday mom, Zabe and I went to Ann's School and had pedicures, then out to PF Chang's for supper with Ann and Shell. MMMM... Tuesday, I had a lot of hair so Zabe went and had a slumber party at Grandma and Grandpa Flom's.  I had to work at the school on Wednesday so he spent the night.  For a while Tuesday night I was home alone and I tell you what, that's really  weird.  It has been a while since that has happened.  Pretty quiet.  Bud was working late.  Things went well I guess for the grandparents and Z.  This morning Zabe and I did some laundry and picking up, then there was hair to be done so we did that all afternoon/evening.  He is such a good boy when I am in the salon.  He took a good 2 hour nap so that always helps.  I was just finishing up my first color and cut and all of a sudden the power went out.  Mind you it's not raining out, snowing, hailing, nothing.  So the first thing that came to my mind was, "Did I forget to pay the bill?" Seriously.  Then the thought of
